A GLIMPSE OF ME: CURIOSITY & COMPASS

Curious by nature, stubborn by conviction, I create for others because I believe the best design catalyzes meaning and changes how people and organizations move through the world.

NAVIGATING MY DRIVE: WHERE I DO MY BEST WORK

I thrive where most draw boundaries, creating a system: between strategy and execution + between a client's ambition and what can actually be built + between a team's potential and where they are today. All wrapped as 1 vision.

DESIGN AS A GROWTH INSTRUMENT

Human-centered design applied early beyond craft, is how we reduce risk, earn client trust, and build things people actually use. I have focused on letting results speak for themselves specially when organizations and others didn't yet believe it.

The journey to my practice

Design at its core, has always been the tool to shift conversations & push for leading growth.

16 years · 7 chapters · One unique discipline built through time.

WHAT THIS PORTFOLIO REPRESENTS

This is more than a collection of projects, it is the record of a discipline being built in perseverance and innovation. I honed skills in sales, business management, and marketing executed at a fine art gallery in Providence, earned a PhD publishing a scientific model on designing human-AI empathy products, and now growing a cross-functional team as part of a global digital product and experience design consulting practice with an estimated over 40% revenue growth year on year.

Every chapter contributed something to the next one, making every lesson an empowered perspective that allowed me to grow in a unique way.

THREE THINGS THAT MAKE THIS DIFFERENT

Research → Practice

A PhD in Human-Computer Interaction and influential published AI research that directly informs how I approach product strategy and human-centered design in commercial contexts.

Discipline → Revenue

Design built to make craft function as part of high quality standards AND as a business capability, generating pipeline, earning client trust, and improving margins year-over-year.

Individual → Organization

~750 people taught or mentored, teams scaling, capabilities transferred, the most durable thing I build is people who carry this thinking forward.

Globally leading digital transformation with human-centered practices

Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, throughout my career I have worked and lived in many places, where each experience has enriched my approach to work, innovation, design and leadership. Now, after 16 years, I am living in Barcelona, Spain always ready to further my professional goals.

My background is in Industrial design from Rhode Island School of Design, where I focused on building engaging product, interactions, services, and experiences for a wide variety of audiences.

Throughout my work experience, I acquired an entrepreneurial outlook, bringing a unique perspective to projects transversally. This required me thinking beyond design and user needs, but also to create a necessary balance with the business objectives, stakeholder management, and market trends.

Adding to that mindset, I have developed an expertise in research for design & innovation. This is not only achieved through agile, human-centric, and design thinking methodologies, but also through scientific methodologies that refined my eye for detail and data driven decision-making.

I aspire to apply my wide and diverse set of skills to create and improve client projects, products, and services tailored to their unique set of needs. I am passionate about my work and I often find in each project with a human experience need inspiring and motivating. I am both a people person that loves to maintain a fun, caring team culture as well as a resilient, fast learner, that loves a good challenge.

In recent years, with my presentation and teaching skills, I have developed a keen sensibility at building teams. With clear career growth objectives, managing them, empowering colleagues and clients through training and coaching that serves a growing business I navigate it with the understanding that to be a good leader it is about guiding others to have the confidence and stamina to be leaders in their own right.
